ONUS Q&A: Daniella Faircloth (Anna)

What is ONUS?

Onus is a British folk horror. It takes you on the journey of an innocent victim and then totally flips everything on its head, making you question anything you believed the film to be about.

What is the biggest challenge about taking on this role?

For me the biggest challenge about taking on this role is that the story stretches over a four-day period, and therefore my characters journey is fairly complex. Filming is happening in a non-chronological order which will require me to hop in and out of emotional mindsets that are appropriate for whichever ‘character day’ certain scenes are being filmed on.

Why did you want to be involved in the production?

I wanted to be involved in Onus because Follow the Crows was a pivotal part of my year last year. It grounded my love for film and solidified that acting is the career I want to fight to have for the rest of my life.

What makes ONUS stand out from other films of the same genre?

Without giving too much away, what I believe makes Onus stand out is that the audience could begin to watch the film and believe it is somewhat cliché, and then when it doesn’t end where one would believe it would make sense for it to do so, it totally flips everything on its head. No-one will have a clue what’s going on or why it’s continuing... until they really think about the literal meanings and start pulling it apart.
